Many Nigerians have accepted the fact that most of our politicians are not exactly upright people. So a seemingly minor thing like sleeping on duty shouldn’t shock us.
These are people that have been on vacation since July – for a term that only started in June.
Even being tried for corruption means nothing to them. They will still sleep.
So imagine our shock to read that Kim Jong Un of North Korea had his Minister of Education executed for sleeping in parliament.
The 32 year old ‘Supreme Leader’, Kim Jong Un ordered that the 63 year old Kim Yong-Jin be publicly executed with an anti-aircraft gun.
They’re not playing in North Korea o. One can only wonder what their leader will do if one of his lawmakers did this…
The Senator can claim that he was ‘thanking God’; but the Lamborghini with his name on it will surely sound his death knell.
