Ice Prince, one of Africa’s most popular rappers, made a surprise appearance and delivered a brilliant performance during the live show at the grand finale of Nigerian Idol Season 6, Africa’s biggest music talent show.
After 12 weeks of electrifying live performances and nonstop excitement, the season’s grand finale held on Sunday, July 11, 2021. Fans who had been voting all week were eagerly anticipating who would be crowned winner, and walk away with N50 million worth of prizes.
Ice Prince, who was a surprise addition to the lineup of live performances, handed in a brilliant rendition of his hit single “Kolo”, which was released earlier in the year.
Sunday’s live show also featured performances from some of Nigeria’s finest artistes, including Chike, Ayra Starr and Cobhams Asuquo. Chike collaborated with Francis on his hit single “Roju”, Ayra Starr thrilled the fans as she performed her hit single “Away”, while Cobhams performed a duet with Kingdom on his single “One Hit.”
The winner of Nigerian Idol Season 6 will walk away with a recording deal of a six-track EP, with music video shoots for three of the songs, and over 50 million Naira worth of prizes which include a ₦30 million cash prize and a brand new SUV.
