‘I went blind for two days after near fatal plane crash’ – Ghanaian gospel act

Ghanaian gospel act, Gifty Osei has cast her mind back to some of the challenges she went through after surviving the Starbow airline’s near fatal crash in Ghana.

The Starbow airline’s aerospace aircraft which took off from Accra to Takoradi in Ghana, had to make an emergency landing on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 due to hydraulic failure, leaving several persons injured with the ‘Fefeefe’ singer among thosewho sustained injuries

Osei, who had earlier  threatened to file a law suit against the airline for damages and other claims, angrily expressed herself in a recent interview  on ‘The Late Nite Celebrity Show,’ blaming the media for misjudging the incident for a hype.

‘Sometimes it pains me a lot when unfortunate things happen to us celebrities and people jump into conclusions that we are looking for attention.

‘It’s very painful when a serious issue happens and people think you are just seeking unnecessary hype. After that incident, I was paralysed for one month and a half. I’m not exaggerating, I went blind for two days and no one knows what happened to me but the media made it look like the suit I wanted to pursue was for sheer hype, they didn’t know what I was going through then.’

Gifty, who is rated as one of the leading Ghanaian female gospel acts, added that apart from being unable to talk, blood was dripping from her mouth as the thanked her husband for standing firmly around him during the challenging period.

‘I was coughing blood and couldn’t talk. But through all these things, I use it as testimony. I want to take this opportunity to thank my husband. He has been my pillar.’
