Star Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw has added her voice to those denouncing the controversial move by the federal government to remove subsidy on petrol.
The glamorous mother of one, speaking to our reporters on phone, was vehemently critical of the stand taken by President Goodluck Jonathan on fuel subsidy.
‘I think the government is insensitive, we thought this subsidy removal issue was going to take effect tentatively by April all of a sudden this? I am not in support of this at all! If there are cabals who are profiting off the subsidy system, are they faceless? Can’t they be identified? This is a strain on the already over-burdened masses. No, I’m not at all in support of it!‘
She also spoke on measures by the federal government to ease the strain caused by the move on the part of the masses.
‘Palliative measures are supposed to come before introducing such an action. Besides a little over a thousand buses for a population close to two hundred million? Are those buses free? Even if they are free, are we supposed to ride them to hospitals when we are sick and everything will be taken care of because we rode on free buses?’, She asked rhetorically.
On the assumption that she was part of the entertainers who generally supported the President during his presidential campaign, she shot back, ‘I never campaigned for Jonathan, go and check your records! Those who did that know themselves. I never ever endorsed Jonathan. Look at what we are in now. They’ve pushed us to the wall too long, we cannot go through the wall, we will bounce back and will fight back.‘
She also gave an indication that she was ready to join protesters to call on government to revert to status quo on the fuel subsidy issue.
The 40 year old award-winning actress and wife to estranged hubby Rodderick Nuttal, has starred in over 40 Nollywood movies and is the face of popular seasoning ingredient, Onga.

The truth has already been unleashed by Kate….. Infact, I am highly disappointed in our so called Pressy Jonathan…….. Pple Loves him so much but unfortunately he shows the blood of black…….. If possible he shld be dethroned tomorrow morning because what is the essence of hawk that can’t carry a chick….
