A Nigerian show promoter based in Germany, Olukayode Akinsika has decried the wave of terrorism that has swept through Europe in recent times.
Known within entertainment circles as Mims Rose, Akinsika is said to be the first promoter to put Wizkid on a stage in Germany; he says even though extreme measures are taken to ensure safety of show attendees, most people are unexpectedly reluctant to put themselves in a position where they could be attacked.
‘Although I won’t deny the fact that some people are afraid to buy tickets to come to concerts hence affecting our outdoor and indoor events business. Hence the people in power need to find a solution to prevent businesses and Innocent people’s life being affected by their decisions,’ he said.‘As a result, I have to increase spend on security by employing major security companies as well as hire police patrol cars- making the cost of organizing shows go up.
In 2016 alone, Germany suffered 4 different terror attacks with the last one coming only a few days to Christmas.
