Sarkodie has no doubt been very consistent on the Ghanaian music scene and was widely tipped to win the Artiste of the Year award at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Award but the tables turned as Stonebwoy scooped the award instead.
Stonebwoy, a Reggae and Dancehall act, beat Sarkodie, E.L, Edem, Samini and Daddy Lumba to the prestigious accolade at the awards ceremony which took place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) in Ghana on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
Speaking after receiving award, the ‘Baafira’ singer said: ‘I believe that the other artistes are happy I won, behold how tall we have grown. ‘This is well deserved.’
