Portuguese couple, Marques’Almeida have won the LVMH Young Fashion Designer Prize for 2015. The competition for cash and mentorship from the French luxury giant now in its second year.
The couple, who reinvented shreddy denim, was presented the LVMH Prize by actress, Natalie Portman and will receive 300,000 euros in addition to a year-long mentorship from the Louis Vuitton, Moet and Hennesy Group spanning all areas of the business – from production to press.
Nigeria’s Amaka Osakwe of Maki Oh and Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture were among the participants at the first edition in 2014.
