According to reports from the court hearing at Cardiff Crown UK on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, the alleged victims, who were found following an immigration raid on a massage parlour in Cardiff, said they were forced to eat snails and snakes as part of a black magic ceremony before being sent to work in brothels and massage parlours as prostitutes, with one of them claiming she paid 41-year old Jackson Omoruyi and 23-year old Lizzy Idahosa £45,500 to bring her to the country.
Idahosa, who allegedly arranged for both women to travel 4,500 miles from Nigeria to the United Kingdom, denied the seven charges including trafficking for prostitution and moving criminal property, while Omoruyi, her husband, denied three charges of inciting the women to become prostitutes and transferring criminal property.
The court will continue hearing in the coming weeks.
