Nigeria’s leading blogger, Linda Ikeji, whose blog was taken down by Google on Wednesday October 8, following allegations of plagiarism and copyright infringements leveled against her, has had her blog restored.
The popular blog, regularly visited by thousands daily, was restored earlier today, Friday, October 10, 2014.
According to the blogger, the allegations leveled against her were bogus, and when Google conducted their investigation, and found that the claims made against her were untrue, her blog was restored.
In her words: ‘The people who took it down knew what to do. You get a number of strikes on blogger and after that it is automatically deleted. It’s automated, programmed to work that way. But the human beings got involved, checked out all the filed complaints, saw they were bogus and restored lindaikeji.blogspot.’
It remains to be seen what will happen later, especially as a new chapter has been opened on the relationship of the blogger and her nemesis – Mr Aye Dee, whose real name, according to the blogger, has been revealed as Mukhtar Alex Dan’iyan.
Meanwhile, at at late Thursday, October 9, 2014, Linda Ikeji had unveiled www.lindaikejionline.com as her new site, also announcing openings for reporters and photographers and saying she is ready to take the business to a new level.
Here are a number of reactions below on Twitter following the restoration of her blog:
