A Brazilian footballer Bruno Fernandes de Souza has been sentenced to 22 years in prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Eliza Samudio. The goalkeeper ordered for her to be murdered so that he could avoid paying child support.
Bruno who was tipped to be in the Brazilian squad for the 2014 World Cup admitted in court that he planned the death of Eliza Samudio and reportedly fed her body to his rottweilers after it was chopped up.
The 28 year old keeper was accused of her murder last September but he claimed that she had fled the country.
Bruno who is married revealed that his best friend Luiz Henrique paid an assassin to do away with Eliza after she gave birth to his child.
Bruno Fernandes de Souza was recently linked with a transfer with Italian club, AC Milan.
