The 2014 edition of the anticipated comedy show, ‘Bovi Man On Fire’ came off as a huge success and Lagosians turned up in their thousands to watch US international acts, Jeffery ‘Ja Rule’ Atkins and Ashanti Douglas perform their famous throwback songs on stage.
It all started with a welcome address from the hilarious host, Basket Mouth who also put some comic act into his time on state to thrill the large crowd that gathered at the Expo Hall of Eko Hotel and Suites on Friday, October 3, 2014.
Basket Mouth, who played a major role to make sure the comedy show was a success, introduced fellow comedians, Kolo, Odogwu, Pencil and Buchi to treat the guests to moments of laughter.
The moment the guest were waiting for finally arrived when Ashanti came on stage for her first performance which she poorly delivered, facing major challenges to carry the guests along and suffering a wardrobe malfunction on stage.
She got back on stage however, some time later, bringing it on in a way that did the right chord in guests and as well light up the stage.
The biggest shot for the night was the coming on stage of American hip hop act, Ja Rule, who brought delivered a performance that was magical in all proportions, making sure his music took control of all guests who attended the event. The American rapper also invited Ashanti back on stage as they both performed their unforgettable collaboration effort, ‘Always on time,’ as well as ‘Happy,’ ‘Mesmerize’ and other songs.
When the man of the moment, Bovi finally made his way to the stage, guests, in an uncommon show of love and appreciation, applauded the comedian for making the show well worth their every penny.
Bovi, who took over the stage for almost one hour, put up a solid performance on stage to close the night after which more music from Chocolate’s City act, M.I; Victoria Kimani, Patoranking, Emma Nyra, Ruby and Presh were unleashed on the guests.
Popular celebrities and personalities at the event include First Lady of Lagos State, Dame Abimbola Fashola, comedian, AY; HipTV boss, Ayo Animashaun; Don Jazzy, Jay Jay Okocha and many others.
