It is a period of mourning for the entire Anyiam-Osigwe family and as well as the entire African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) crew.
This is on account of the death of Michael Anyiam-Osigwe, an elder brother of AMAA founder, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, who was reportedly shot in an armed robbery attack on Saturday, November 29, 2014 on the ever busy Benin-Ore Expressway.
Although Michael, one of the sons of late Nigerian billionaire, Emmanuel Onyechere Anyiam-Osigwe; was rescued alive from the scene of the robbery, he was later pronounced dead in the hospital according to sources.
A Masters’ degree holder in Social Anthropology and Ethnomusicology from the Goldsmiths College, University of London, he was till his untimely demise the Coordinator of the Anyiam-Osigwe Group and secretary to the Supervisory Board.
