The ground of her conviction is theft as she was accused of stealing $3, 200 from her client and the verdict was passed by a Senior Magistrate, Abdulahi Ilaleh, today after the 23-year-old lady pleaded guilty to a one count charge.
According to the prosecutor, Ona Odigiri, the offence contravened Section 288 of the Penal Code Law and the case was established after the complainant, identified as Aleixandre Sachir of Tack Continental Estate, Life Camp, reported the matter to the Life Camp Police Station.
Ona also told the court that the complainant met the convict in a cinema hall on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, and took her to Waxride Hotel, Abuja, where she made away with his money.
After the verdict the senior magistrate cautioned the convict to desist from the crime, saying that the sentence would serve as a deterrent to others.
