Barely a week after Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari put the whole world in confusion with his announcement that his wife belonged in his kitchen, living room and ‘the other room’, the first lady stepped out wearing a N1.2m Salavatore Ferragamo cape, making us wonder if this ‘other room’ is indeed as derogatory as we had initially believed it to be.

The Salvatore Ferragamo collection is one of Hollywood’s favourite designers and the biggest celebs have stepped out rocking their outfits.

Other celebs like Rihanna, Angelina Jolie, Katherine Heigel, Lady Gaga and some of Hollywood’s biggest names have also been spotted rocking the much-coveted designer.

When Aisha Buhari stepped out in hers, fashion fanatics all over the country quickly went into investigative mode, researching all they could to find out all they could about the cape before throwing the shocking news out there.
At first we did not believe the story. I mean, in this recession? What business does our president’s wife, who recently joined the rest of the country to criticise her husband’s leadership, have with wearing such an expensive outfit? Well, here’s your proof below.

But let’s face facts, Mrs Buhari was wearing expensive clothes before her husband became president and the fact that the country is currently facing what might seem like its worst economic period shouldn’t stop her from wearing whatever the heck she feels like, no matter how much it costs.
And on the brighter side, there ain’t nothing wrong with having a fashion forward first lady of our own, just like America has Michelle Obama.
