Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Nigeria’s critically acclaimed Nigerian novelist and award-winning author of Americanah, is among nominees for the 2015 Grammys having been nominated for her feminist-inspired message backgrounded by American superstar entertainer, Beyonce on the 2013 track, ‘Flawless‘.
Following her TEDx talk on why ‘We Should All Be Feminists,’ Beyonce incorporated the writer’s essay as the background to her single, which further brought more life to her craft on the song.
Adichie, who also wrote books like Purple Hibiscus and Half of a Yellow Sun, now adapted into a movie, has had her works translated into over 30 languages and has also received several awards and distinctions, including the Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction in 2007 and a MacArthur Foundation Fellowship in 2008.
This nomination for ‘Album of the Year’ with her fellow feminist is just yet another achievement for the writer, and her fans world over are anxiously waiting to see if she’ll claim the Grammy award tonight as the World’s most respected award ceremony holds at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, United States.
