Relatively unknown coach Gernot Rohr might be appointed the new technical adviser of the Nigeria national team.
The 63-year-old who has previously coached the national teams of Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso is expected to be unveiled at a media conference next week.
This is coming after Frenchman Paul Le Guen failed to agree a contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.
The Super Eagles have been without a permanent coach since Sunday Oilseh quit in February over unpaid wages.
Rohr’s other past managerial jobs include French club Nantes and Nice, Young Boys Berne in Switzerland, the Tunisian club Etoile Sahel and the national teams of Gabon and Niger.

Before leaving Burkina Faso, he led the Stallions into the final round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Nigeria have failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Gabon, but are in the final round of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where they will play Algeria, Cameroon, as well as Zambia.
