D’Banj’s ex-manager, Frank Amudo who will likely become a key witness in the Dbanj – Seyitan rape saga, has opened up for the first time since the matter became public.

Amudo worked with D’banj as his manager during the time of the alleged rape and was the original occupant of the room the rape supposedly occurred.
He released a statement on Monday, June 6, 2020, and gave an exclusive video interview to Goldmyne where he provides credible background to the events of December 30, 2018, and what has happened afterwards.
He says that he invited Seyitan to the party, gave her his room and went home to get ready for a trip he had the next day with D’banj to Ghana. He also alleges that he received a couple of calls and voice notes from Seyitan claiming that the artiste had raped her.
He said that he didn’t pursue the matter further after he spoke with Seyitan because she had said she didn’t want to go public with the story. ‘She said she had left everything in God’s hands and made it clear that she was not interested in taking the matter to the public’, he says.
He confirms that Seyitan’s stance changed after D’banj posted a picture on IG saying that he supports rape victims. Amudo says in his statement, ‘I got a WhatsApp message from Seyitan saying that D’banj did not have the right to say “No To Rape” when he was culpable of such act, which was a reaction to a post that D’banj had made on Instagram about rape.’
He also alleges during his exclusive interview with GoldMyne TV that D’banj’s current manager, Damian Okoroafor wanted him to discredit Seyitan’s story.
He told the interviewer, ‘The fourth conversation was between Damian and myself. When he called me to come out to discredit Seyitan and I’m like I can’t do that. I’m like what are you telling me to do?’ He continues, ‘I said call D’banj, do anything, but the truth is that I cannot discredit this girl, because that would mean me lying’.
During his interview, he mentions a few people (all of whom are D’banj’s friends) who can corroborate different parts of his story. He also clearly stated that he has the voice notes Seyitan shared on the day of the alleged rape. Lastly, he said that the police have a recording of his conversation with Damian.
Frank Amudo is the first third party to provide these details that legal experts say could swing the matter in an entirely different direction.
