On Tuesday night, Caroline Danjuma accused Davido of ‘dumping’ the corpse of his who she said died in his car. Although the singer came out later to dismiss the allegations, he refused to exactly say what happened and has yet to respond to our queries.
Here are four other times celebrities were accused of being complicit in someone’s death.
1. Ibinabo Fiberesima
In 2006, the former beauty queen was involved in a car accident that claimed the life of Dr Suraj Giwa. She was charged to court for reckless driving and found guilty of manslaughter. Although she was jailed for five years, the sentence came with an option of 100,000 naira fine which she promptly paid and was let go. In 2016 however, the case was reopened and the fine option was removed. She approached the Supreme Court and the case is awaiting final ruling.
2. Pastor Goody Goody
In 2008, it was reported that Pastor Goody Goody was involved in a murder case. The singer was detained for a few weeks but was later cleared by the police who confirmed that it was some of his band boys that committed the crime.
Bimbo Ogunsanya
The former Nollywood actress was accused of attempted murder in 2011. According to news reports at the time, Ogunsanya was said to have sent hoodlums to kill a certain Rev Pat Ogechi, who survived the attack and dragged the actress to court. The case was eventually settled as a Lagos court who ruled that the actress be discharged and acquitted.
Bukky Black
Another Yoruba actress, Bukky Black was accused of killing an ‘omo-onile’ in Ikorodu. She was charged to court for the murder and was detained for many weeks. After she was granted bail, she moved to start a new life in Germany as a hair dresser.
