Former English footballer, Paul Gascoigne who has a well documented case of alcoholism has been charged for assaulting his former wife Sheryl.
The incident happened at a railway station.
Reports say his ex-wife tried to calm him down when he grabbed a guard by the neck at the train station. Gascoigne who was visibly drunk according to onlookers lashed out at Sheryl.
He was shortly arrested and released on bail.
The former Tottenham player has also been charged with being drunk and disorderly.
