Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi might be breaking records in the area of goals but Ukraine and Shakhtar Donetsk defender, Oleksandr Kucher has become the man to receive the fastest red card in UEFA Champions League history.
The former FC Kharkiv star bagged the infamous record in the Champions League match between his team and Bayern Munich on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 after he was shown a straight red card within just two minutes and 39 seconds of the first half.
He brought down Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze with a reckless challenge and you can’t say he didn’t cost his team as they succumbed to a 7 – 0 defeat in the match.
