The fans are one of the most significant factors that make Africa’s biggest reality show, Big Brother Naija, successful. Last year, MultiChoice, the show’s organisers, introduced a way to thank the fans for their support. They created the Fave Lock-in competition that allowed 30 fans to win ₦1 million each for correctly predicting the show’s winner via the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps.
This year, the competition returned and will close in only a few short hours. So, if you are an avid viewer of the show and think you understand things in the house, then this is for you.
If you were wondering how you would decide who to lock-in as the possible winner of the show, then you may want to answer these questions. If your choice successfully fits into all or most of these categories, then you are probably on the right track.
1. How active is the housemate? If you are thinking about choosing someone for your fave lock-in but they sleep all day, don’t do it! Make sure you choose someone involved and active with tasks, games, parties, and house activities. Those are the people who mostly make it into the finale and eventually win the show.
2. How much favour do they have with the housemates? You may also want to pick someone who the other housemates like. This isn’t always a fool-proof plan, but it would most likely work. If the housemates never nominate the person you’ve chosen, then there’s less of a chance that they’ll have to leave until the finals, unless they are disqualified. That may be an intelligent choice.
3. How many conversations do they generate online? Even if all the other housemates hate your fave, but they have a ton of fans out of the house, then they are a safe bet. One way to know if they have fans out of the house is to note how often people talk about the person and the quality of the discussions. You want to ask yourself, are the comments about this person largely positive or negative? But then again, there’s no rule book to this thing. Housemates like Maria have proven that even if you are at the top of conversations all the time, you can still be evicted.
4. Have they been nominated and saved before? You have better chances of knowing the strength of your chosen housemate if they’ve faced possible eviction before and survived. If they stay, it means they have an active fanbase that will keep them in the house and better your chances of winning. Remember that you also have to be a member of that fanbase and support by voting on the website or MyDStv and MyGOtv apps.
5. What makes you strongly believe in their ability to win? This is based on personal conviction. Sometimes, your gut tells you that someone has the highest chance of winning, and they are right. At the end of the day, you have to go with your intuition and choose someone that makes you feel most confident in your decision and their ability to take home the grand prize.
So, do you know who you want to lock-in as the possible winner of BBNaija Shine Ya Eye? If you do, hurry and download the MyDStv or MyGOtv apps to get started. Remember that the competition ends today, 31 August 2021. And all you have to do is make sure you have an active subscription, choose the housemate you believe will win this season, and submit your choice. Then you wait patiently for the season to end, your fave to win, and your chance to win ₦1 million.
