Following the release of his latest studio album, Nigerian music sensation Fireboy DML has described his experience working with different artists on Adedamola.
Adedamola features collaborations with several music heavyweights, including Lojay, Lagbaja, Seun Kuti, DJ Spinall, and US singer Jon Batiste.
In a recent interview, Fireboy disclosed that he is currently working on a collaborative Extended Play with Lojay and described his working relationship with Lojay as “great.”
“I’m working on a joint EP with Lojay. We have a very great relationship in the studio,” he shared during the interview.

The album, which has enjoyed positive reviews, currently dominates most of the music charts in Nigeria. The collaborations with Lojay and Lagbaja have set tongues wagging, with many wondering how the YBNL artist was able to secure such features.
Fireboy on working with Lagbaja
Fireboy DML also reflected on his studio experience with the legendary Nigerian artist Lagbaja, describing him as the most meticulous artist he has ever worked with.
Fireboy collaborated with Lagbaja on, ‘Back N Forth’. The feature marks Lagbaja’s return to the music scene after years of hiatus. Despite their extensive studio sessions, Lagbaja remained true to his signature masked persona.
“It means a lot to me getting a legend like Lagbaja on that record, in [the] time that we are in now,” Fireboy told Nandi Madida of Apple Music 1.
“You would not believe this: Lagbaja was masked in the studio. It was crazy—I did not get to see his face. I had a few interesting thoughts; I wanted to ask him if I could see his face! But you know, all that matters is that we made the music. That’s what makes Lagbaja, Lagbaja,” he said.

“Lagbaja is the most meticulous artiste I ever worked with. I wished he had taken his mask off but he wore it all through our time in the studio. I learnt a lot from him during the session,” Fireboy revealed.

Since his breakout single ‘Jealous’ in 2019, Fireboy DML has become a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene.
He was signed to Olamide’s YBNL label in 2018, Fireboy has four studio albums to his discography, with Laughter, tears and Goosebumps in 2019, Apollo in 2020, Playboy in 2022 and Adedamola in 2024.
