Entertainment Week Africa (EWA) lit up Lagos yesterday, 23rd November 2025, as the Livespot X Festival transformed the Livespot Entertarium, 4 Oba Elegushi Beach Road, Ikate Lekki, into a vibrant hub of music, creativity, and cultural conversations. The annual showcase delivered yet another unforgettable edition, drawing industry leaders, creatives, entertainers, and fans into one space to celebrate the heartbeat of African entertainment.

This year’s festival embraced the theme “Close the Gap.” It highlighted the continent’s expanding influence across music, film, tech, fashion, and live experiences, underscoring how entertainment continues to shape Africa’s identity on the global stage.

The venue buzzed with notable personalities, including Darey Art Alade, Waje, Nkechi Blessing, Qing Madi, and BBNaija alumni such as Jason Jae, Wanni X Handi, and other rising stars. Executives from Spotify, YouTube, MultiChoice, Showmax, Livespot360, and Afrobeats Connect were also present, alongside media houses like Pulse, BellaNaija, Boomplay, Arise TV, and The Guardian.

The evening offered a rich blend of experiences. Attendees explored immersive digital art exhibitions, fashion tech showcases, and interactive music installations before settling in for thought-provoking panel sessions on AI in entertainment, the evolution of Afrobeats, global touring, and building sustainable creative careers.

When it came to performances, the night delivered pure magic. Darey Art Alade set the tone with a soulful, polished set that reminded the crowd why he remains one of Africa’s most respected live performers. Waje followed with her signature powerhouse vocals, turning the venue into a choir as fans sang along to every note. with performances also from Jason Jae, Qinq Madi, and turntable performances from DJ Ritzy and Wanni x Handi. Their performances opened the floodgates for even more electrifying moments, with additional acts lighting up the stage and keeping the energy high well into the night.

The 2025 edition stayed true to that legacy, offering a platform where ideas were exchanged, talents discovered, and the future of African creativity celebrated.
