On The Defiant Ones, a new documentary that features Dr Dre and legendary producer and label executive, Jimmy Iovine, Dre talks about meeting Eminem for the first time in 1997 and how they recorded the song that became ‘My Name Is’.
According to him, ‘I played him the beat and in like two or three seconds, he just [sang the chorus]. That’s what happened the first day, the first few minutes or us being in the studio…’
