Super Eagles of Nigeria striker, Emmanuel Emenike is considering walking away from Turkish football club, Fenerbahce following an attack by unknown gunmen that almost claimed the life of the team’s bus driver after their 5 – 1 victory over Caykur Rizespor.
Speaking with AfricanFootball, a source close to the footballer confirmed that the striker who earns over €2.5m is still in shock over the attack which almost claimed his life along with his teammates.
‘Emenike has been shattered by the attack. It has further convinced him he needs to quit Fenerbahce notwithstanding the fact that he earns a staggering €2.5m in a year there.’
The striker, who has been jeered of late by fans over his lack of goal scoring form and might see this as an opportunity to make an exit from the club
Meanwhile, police have confirmed the arrest of two persons in connection with shooting, the first suspect aged 27 is accused of tracking the bus and relaying information over the phone, while a second, a 38-year old is said to have pulled the trigger, firing at the team bus.
