Egyptian striker Ahmed Hossam popularly known as ‘Mido’ has announced his retirement from football at the age of 30.
‘Today I announce that I’m quitting football. I want to thank all those who supported me during my football career, especially Egypt fans’ he said on his Twitter page.
Mido had a 14 year football career which saw him lace up his boots for Tottenham Hotspurs.
He joined English Championship side Barnsley last year but quit the club because of fitness and injury problems. During his stay at Barnsley he only made one appearance in the club. Mido has played for 10 clubs in seven different countries.
