Eddie Murphy caused a small brush fire on Twitter when he hinted at a Coming To America remake.
He had tweeted out a picture of Vanessa Bell Calloway dressed in her role as Imani Izzi, better known as ‘your queen to be’, and posed the question, ‘Coming to America sequel?’

Almost immediately you could hear all of Black Twitter going:

But the tweet didn’t live long as Murphy deleted it, and then deleted his entire Twitter account altogether. Guess it got ‘too hot in the hot tub’ after he got everyone’s hopes up.
But not before Twitter got hold of it and made a whole lot out of a four-letter tweet.

“Coming to America” Sequel?? Yes!!! BUT, it’s hard to top a classic. It’s probably the only movie I’ve watched over 30 times pic.twitter.com/zOWnSUALAH

A Coming to America sequel is completely unnecessary.
Period.
