Bayern Munich doctor, Hans-Wihelm Muller-Wohlfahrt, reported to have served the German champions for almost 40 years has terminated his contract after their shock Champions League 3 – 1 defeat to Porto, on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
The head coach of the German club, Pep Guardiola, who had only 14 players fit for the clash to select from, after his top stars were left out due to long time injuries, complained over lack of available players by ironically directing it to the doctor in a post match conference.
In a statement released by the 72-year-old medic, who has worked with Jamaican sprinter, Usian Bolt, he described the comment aimed at him and his team, as ‘inexplicable’.
‘After the Champions League match of Bayern Munich against Porto, the medical department was for some inexplicable reasons made primarily responsible. The bond of trust is damaged.’
According to reports, His son, Kilian, Peter Ueblacker and Lutz Hansel, who are all part of the team at Bayern, have also resigned.
