So, yesterday August 11, self-proclaimed Port-Harcourt’s first son, Duncan Mighty shared that what has kept him successful over the years are prayers from widows he helps.
‘One of my secrets of moving higher unstoppable is remembering the widows. God answers them instantly pls make sure u reach out to the widows close to u,’ he wrote along with a group of women ‘blessing’ him with prayers.
Controversial OAP, Freeze obviously didn’t miss it and used it as an opportunity to shade the singer and other celebrities who display their acts of good gestures for the public to see.
Now, Freeze might be too irrational with his opinions at times, but this one somehow strikes home.

While it is noble of celebrities to reach out to the less privileged, are the paparazzi that accompany these good gestures really necessary?
Some of these gestures at times look too staged and promotional, thereby taking away from its essence.
But then, in an age where negativity thrives, these celebrities will strive to cling onto anything to attract positive things to be said or written about them and social media is a perfect platform.

Simply put, a celebrity who doesn’t show off his/her philanthropic gestures to the public, is adjudged as NOT doing.
It’s an eerily similar case as when they save face by quickly putting up ‘tearful’ posts to eulogize a dead colleague, when in actual truth they haven’t reached out in person.
Maybe they are all guilty, maybe we are all guilty, but it is an act that not even the ‘guilt’ feeling will make go away anytime soon.
