There is palpable uncertainty in the Nigerian movie industry regarding one of the legends in the Yoruba section of Nollywood.
The reports concern the venerable Alagba Adebayo Faleti who is around his mid 80s. A notable feature in many movies produced and directed by respected Tunde Kelani, including Thunderbolt (Magun), Agogo Ewo and epic movies like Afonja (1 & 2), Basorun Gaa and many others, he is a legend of theatre and the movie world.
Reports have surfaced on social media and NET is trying to get confirmation from some notable Yoruba actors close to Baba, as Faleti is fondly referred to by all.
Kelani however insists Faleti is okay. ‘Please disregard the rumours about Chief Adebayo Faleti’s death. Authoritative baba is alive and well. I spoke with him and his dear wife a few minutes ago’, he wrote on Facebook hours ago.
