We’ve all seen the internet photos of Prince Harry stark naked having a good time in an expensive hotel in Vegas – the news has however blown out of proportions with different parties.
Party 1 – The Press
Trust the press to capitalize on any celebrity ‘mishap’; Prince Harry is no exception. After the photos hit the web and spread like wide fire through the driest of forests, The Sun became the first British newspaper to publish naked photos – the publication got one of its staff members to pose for its front page in a mock up. It carried the headline: ‘Heir it is!’.
The cover as expected was received with mixed reactions. Former deputy Prime Minister Lord Prescott said The Sun had shown “absolute utter contempt” for the law and for the Lord Justice Leveson inquiry into media ethics. But a former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie hailed the idea stating “If Prince Harry with no clothes on in a Las Vegas hotel room surrounded by one naked woman and a load of other people he has just met in drinking-stripping game is not a story then it is hard to know what is.
Party 2 – Social Network
For Social networks – Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and Instargram, Prince Harry’s ‘revelation’ just was treated just like any other celeb shocker and soon became a trending topic worldwide. On the microblogging site hastags like #myharrypose created by E!. The entertainment channel asked viewers to send in similar imitations of Harry seen in the photo. ‘The royals have had a good year… but the cracks are starting to show… #Harry #Bumgate’, @TheMediaTweets wrote.
Party 3 – Prince Harry’s security personel
One very important question is where were the Prince’s personal security team when all the ‘naked fiasco’ was going on? How did they allow Prince Harry and friends walk downstairs, pick up the ladies and let them in his private VIP room? These questions are yet to be answered.
TMZ reports that the security personel never asked the girls to give up their phones and that they were more interested in the party than checking nothing was going wrong. ‘Harry’s team acted like a bunch of amateurs’, a source is reported to have said.
Party 4 – The Royal Family
The Royal Family is fiercely furious over the Prince Harry naked photo fiasco – but is pointing fingers at the security for the huge slip up. The nude photos were banned from being shown in the UK — after the Royals threatened any news outlet from printing them. We’ve already learnt that The Sun defied the laws and splashed a remake on their cover.
Party 5 – The Press again…
Soft porn magazine Playgirl are offering huge cash sum for a right royal centrefold – Yes they want Prince Harry to take off his clothes (and his royal briefs too!) again for the magazine.
Meanwhile, the Prince has returned to the UK where his elder brother Prince William is said to be quite unimpressed.
What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas; maybe that saying doesn’t cover the royal ones…
