Kaycee Ichie Oguejiofor has a concise message for Nigerian artistes.
I have been to the studio countless times with so many different artistes, both established and the up and coming, talented and untalented.
A lot of time the beat-makers (not producers) with the use of simple softwares, enhance their vocals, fluke some dope beat and bam! Artiste becomes popular.

Put that same artist on the stage to perform, you will definitely ignore the man running from one end of the stage to another, dancing to the music and not paying attention to the clown on the stage, who cant even switch from one key to another (they don’t even know simple music notations).
Michael Jackson, even years after his death, is still regarded to be the greatest performer/musician of all time, despite his incredible vocal ability, his dance moves which was well ahead of time, he spent countless hours rehearsing, he spent more hours rehearsing than performing. Think of it this way, people read the whole year to write jamb in one day, because that one day will define your entire life.
As an artiste every performance is your exam. The amount of energy you put getting set is what we will see in five minutes on stage.

If you put in work trying to improve your vocals or live performance, or maybe your dance routine with your dancers, or even rehearsing with your hype-man, we will see all that in five-minutes, and that my friend is what will actually endear some of us to you.
Reason I hate going to concerts or events around here (except when I’m working) is because I can’t listen to a bad version of the good one (CD) I have at home.
I can give you too many instances of artistes who have put in work and have become better at whatever they do; 2Baba, Darey Art Alade, Chinedu ‘Flavour‘ Okoli, P-Sqaure, and a few others.
