Some of his followers had raised eyebrows about his age, arguing that he is lying about his age, as many believe he is older than 20.
While some only made a joke of it, others got a little personal arguing that the star was playing on the intelligence of his fans. ‘Today is Davido’s Birthday. How old is he now ?!? 17,18,19 ?!’, @iamcray tweeted. In response, @ayoola tweeted, He’s been 19 for 3 years now. A fan with handle, @bentleyladi also tweeted, ‘finally, Davido’s celebrating his 20th birthday, After 3 years of being 19………*phew*’ to which another fan, @bad_sharp_guy, replied, ‘No mind am, the guy don 25’.
Meanwhile, a lot of other fans have been sending congratulatory messages to the pop star, ‘Hey peeps, I just used davido’s name as my facebook password cuz of his birthday to show him the love I have for him’ @quikdrey tweeted. His manager, Asa Asika, also wished him a happy birthday, promising a bash for him later in the week, ‘Planning the hardest birthday move for my bro, @iamdavido’s 20th this weekend’ @asaasika tweeted.
