Titled ‘The Encounter’, the movie focuses on the historic relationship between Biafran warlord, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu and one of the major characters of the war, Emmanuel Ifeajuna.
The movie, which is set in 1967, captures an encounter between Ifeajuna and Ojukwu before the latter was killed by firing squad for allegedly betraying the Biafran cause.
Played by Amara Onoh, Ifeajuna’s character, long perceived as a villain, is seen trying to convince Ojukwu to stop the war as it ‘was only a battle in futility’.
The movie is directed by Tolu Ajayi while AMVCA award winner, Ekeme Mekwunye produced it.
The movie also stars Gregory Ojefua who played the role of Ojukwu.
‘The Encounter’ will be premiered on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Genesis Deluxe Cinemas in Lekki, Lagos.
