Nigerian Author, Chimamanda Adichie has won the National Book Critics Circle Award for her third novel, Americanah.
On Thursday, March 13, 2014, it was announced that the author had won the NBCC award, one of the most prestigious literary prizes in the United States.
Chimamanda is no stranger to accolades and laurels for her works of fiction, as her first novel, ‘Purple Hibiscus’, was short-listed for the Man Booker prize while her second effort, ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’, won the Orange prize.
Americanah has also been short-listed for the Baileys women’s fiction prize, as well as being previously named as one of ‘New York Times’ best books of 2013.
