Today, April 12, 2016, popular celebrity photographer, Kelechi Amadi-Obi celebrates his 14th wedding anniversary with his wife, Julia Uzoma Amadi-Obi.
While Kelechi Amadi-Obi is a trained Lawyer who was called to bar in 1993 before embracing a passion for photography and painting, his wife Julia is an interior designer and architect.
Kelechi is known by his clients as a workaholic hence it was no surprise when we reached out to congratulate him on his anniversary today and found out he was on a full-day set working with a top Nigerian musician.
His assistant, Moji, who spoke to us said, ‘That’s how serious my boss takes his job, but I’m sure he’ll make out time to take madam out for dinner later at night’.
Some of Kelechi Amadi Obi’s works have been featured in exhibitions within and outside Nigeria, including; 2006 – ‘Snap Judgement’, New Position in Contemporary African Photography, International Centre of Photography, New York, 2005 – ‘Depth of Field’, South London Gallery, 2004 – ‘Lagos’, Ifa Gallery, Stuttgart, Germany, 2003 – ‘Transferts’ Africalia, Brussels, Belgium.
In 2004, he won the St. Moritz Style Award for Photography.
