Femi Kuti and The Positive Force band have kicked off their US tour, leaving behind for now his job as a judge on the popular TV music talent show Nigerian Idol.
Kuti who traveled out of the country last week will be replaced by celebrity judges as his tour starts this weekend and will end in April. Last week, rapper Naeto C joined Yinka Davies and Jeffery Daniels at the high table as the first celebrity judge this season, filling in for absent Kuti.
Producers however say Kuti will be back at the end of January.
In other news, the Afrobeat king has joined social network Twitter and has been getting really active with his fans and even separated wife Funke Kuti.
