Born in 1961 in Ogun State, she began her professional career in waka music when she released her debut album Late General Murtala Ramat Mohammed, in 1976 under Leader Records.
It became the first recording by a female artist to sell over a million copies in Nigeria.
Nowadays, she’s focused on helping push the music of her son, rapper Big Sheff. Together they remixed one of her hit songs of the 90s, ‘Gentle Lady’.
