5 years ago, March 24, 2011, the Nigerian entertainment industry was thrown into mourning when one of its brightest young talents and fast rising comedian, Chijioke John ‘CD John‘ died at St Nicholas Hospital, Lagos after a fatal car crash.

It’s been 5 years and and as we remember a fallen hero, let’s run you through the facts that led to his death.
- He died on Thursday, 24 March 2011 shortly after he finished hosting Harrysong‘s album listening party that held at Tribecca night club, Victoria Island, Lagos.

- He was in a convoy of three cars involving the Gulder Ultimate Search Season 7 winner Kunle Oluwaremi, but he was the only fatality.
- He was driving his car, a black Golf 2 with his girlfriend, Ebere in front seat. The car got damaged beyond repairs.

- CD’s corpse was moved from St. Nicholas hospital to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) morgue at 10:45 the following morning in a convoy led by fellow comedians – Ali Baba, Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st, MC Abbey, Princess among others.
- He was buried quietly at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba-Lagos on Wednesday, April 20, 2011.

- Until his death, late Chijioke De John lived at Plot 193A Gold Crescent, Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos with his mother and younger sister.
