FIFA has paid out £46.3million to clubs around the world in recognition of their players’ exploits at the 2014 World Cup tournament in Brazil.
According to reports, football’s governing body distributed £46.3million to clubs across the globe, with each outfit rewarded for the number of players who attended the World Cup.
In the list released, teams confirmed to have received the cash benefits include: Chelsea £793,000 followed by Real Madrid £860,000, Bayern Munich £1.1m, alongside Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United among other clubs.
A statement initially released by The European Club Association (ECA) confirmed that the cash benefit will be extended to 396 clubs affiliated to 57 different national associations.
‘The ECA is pleased to announce that 396 clubs affiliated to 57 different national associations from around the globe will receive a share of the benefits from the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil,’ a statement released by body reads.
