Following the shut down of the popular Chocolat Royale Cafe located on Etim Inyang Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos by operatives of NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control), the outfit is back in business.
The popular cafe was shut on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 over alleged sale of expired food products but the latest update on the one-month old case is that it’s been reopened. The Amin Mousali-owned Chocolat Royale reopened for business yesterday, Tuesday, June 30, 2015.
No reason has been given by NAFDAC for the decision to reopen the cafe just a month after shutting it on a case as serious as alleged sale of expired food products. Efforts to reach the agency for comments have not yielded any response.
The announcement of the reopening of the outfit was made on social media by members of staff of Cool FM also owned by Amin Mousalli along with other establishments. A rep of Chocolate Royale confirmed the development to NET by saying: ‘Yes, we have reopened, we got a letter from NAFDAC last week that we’ll be reopened soon and this week it happened.’

Give or take… what is good is good no amount of blackmail can stop it.
personally, i’ve seen no report from NAFDAC stating that these expired goods were found in their kitchen and were being used or rather, the food were being tested and were unfit.
These are the essential facts… i beleive if the regulatory agency(s) had found them culpable they would have made a statement and would have kept them shutdown permanently.
lets be livid and sensible when we make criticism(s) of others…. talking of unemployment in Nigeria, if they (Chocolat Royal) shuts down forever, note that alot of people have lost their livlihood.
And for 20 years, you cant tell me that such a bad business and the government existed side by side and the government will be quick to aqciute them.
I will not be a part of bad and stupid critism… If you wont go to Chocolat Royal, stay at home and don’t spew.
