Following reports that an unspecified number of the Chibok girls kidnapped by the dreaded sect, Boko Haram, were released this evening, the Military high command.
The girls, over 200 in number, were kidnapped from their secondary school in Chibok, Borno State, on April 14 and have since remained in the captivity of Boko Haram in an unknown location.
According to earlier reports, a top military source said two Toyota Hiace buses loaded with the girls were driven into the Maimalari Barracks, the headquarters of the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, this evening,’ an online medium reported.
However, a tweet by the BBC says the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army has retracted the statement, saying the girls in the custody of the military are not the girls kidnapped at now popular location, Chibok.
