UK-based Juju musician, Sunday Adeola Ogunyemi (widely known as Sunny Melody) has lost his mum.
The popular musician’s mum, Tawakalitu Abeke Ogunyemi died at 12 noon today, September 15, 2016 in Abeokuta, Ogun State after a brief illness.
She was aged 70.
In a brief chat with TheNETng, Sunny Melody, still in tears, managed to say, ‘she eventually left, who am i to complain. I have always believed in the Bible verse that says ‘God giveth..and He taketh’, therefore I can only say may God grant her eternal rest.’
His manager, Tope Aileru also spoke with our correspondent, saying, ‘yes mama is dead, the family will reveal her burial plans shortly.’
Incidentally, the London-based musician is currently in Nigeria, where he has been playing at scheduled shows.
Late Mama Ogunyemi was born in Ajilete Okeodan, Yewa Local Government area of Ogun State and is survived by her children; Oluyemisi Ogun (nee Ogunyemi) Bamitale Ogunyemi, Sunday Ogunyemi (Sunny Melody) Buki Oduntan (Nee Ogunyemi), and an extended family.
