With the ongoing 2015 Presidential election holding nationwide today, the stakes are indeed high and we can tell you the official website (inecnigeria.org) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been hacked.
A visit to the site revealed that the hack was carried out by a group that goes by the name, Nigerian Cyber Army and the website has been turned to a music player.
The hackers warned INEC to ensure a free and fair elections and not to attempt to rig elections. Confirming the hacking incident, INEC’s official twitter handle tweeted:
We are aware of the recent hack of our @inecnigeria website, we are currently investigating this incident #NigeriaDecides
