Popular rapper turned evangelist Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo Kenya, formerly known as Lord Kenya has asked radio presenters and DJs across the country to stop playing his hip hop songs on air.
Speaking at a recent thanksgiving service at Kumasi – Tanoso, the ‘Sika Baa’ rapper who describes the songs as ‘ungodly’ said ‘If they continue to play my old songs and lead people into destruction, God will hold them [the DJs] accountable not me. They should stop playing the music – it’s my own intellectual property and I have seen the light now so the DJ’s should stop enjoying my songs on air.’
The St James Baptist Church evangelist, who found Christ in 2010, won Artiste of the Year, Hiplife Artiste of the Year, and Hiplife Album of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards 2001, and Best Ghanaian Rap Music Award at the Anansekrom Festival in Canada in 2000, among others.
