Benedict Cumberbatch has married Sophie Hunter.
The Imitation Game star tied the knot with his fiancée at a private ceremony in St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church in Mottistone on the Isle of Wight, England today, Saturday, February 14, 2015.
A source told People magazine: ‘The church is not that big… I would say maybe 100 people maximum would fit in there.
‘It’s a beautiful setting and very old English, very quaint and pretty.’
The guests then joined the bride and groom at Mottistone Manor for the reception.
The chosen venue is said to have a family connection for Sophie as she is reportedly related to the Nicholson family, who reside there.
The Isle of Wight County Press reports that around 40 guests arrived the church, some in limousines.
The road leading to the wedding venue was blocked for the occasion and so well-wishers were forced to gather at the end of the road in the hope of spotting the bride and her groom.
The bridal party arrived at approximately 3.20pm and were forced to use umbrellas after rain began to fall.
Benedict and Sophie first met whilst working on Burlesque Fairytales in 2009 and are already expecting their first child together.
