Basketmouth opened with a joke on the popular dress that broke the internet recently. According to him, the confusion behind the colour of the dress in Nigeria especially, according to his consultations with experts in psychology, is due to the frustrating living standards people suffer in the country.
‘Most Nigerians are so frustrated that they see things in opposite,’ he said. ‘Let’s think of it; maybe there has been power supply all along and it’s just the frustration syndrome that makes you think everywhere is dark. Maybe the roads are all good but we just can’t see it that way. Maybe D’banj has been releasing several hit songs every year, and just maybe Tonto Dikeh can actually sing but we all just can’t see,’ he joked.
The award-winning comedian got a rapturous response of laughter, wild cheers and applause from the audience for the joke but many feel he might be hearing from D’Banj or Tonto Dikeh in the weeks and months ahead.
