Audu Maikori, co-founder and former CEO of Chocolate City Group, has been confirmed as a speaker at NECLive 2025 on November 28. A respected leader in Nigeria’s creative and business world, Audu played a major role in launching the careers of artists like M.I Abaga and Ice Prince.
Since founding Chocolate City in 2005 with Paul Okeugo and his brother Yahaya Maikori, the company has grown from a record label into a major media and entertainment group. It has been home to top artists like M.I Abaga, Femi Kuti, Young Jonn, and Ckay. Audu also co-founded Pixel Ray Studios, a Pan-African film and soundstage company that aims to improve film production across Africa and the Caribbean. He has been a judge on Nigerian Idol. Audu has earned multiple awards, including the British Council’s International Young Music Entrepreneur of the Year (2007) and the African Awards for Entrepreneurship (2011). He is a passionate advocate for social justice, creative innovation, and the growth of Africa’s creative industries.
