
During an interview with the magazine’s Jason Gay, Michael revealed how he had to pack on the weight for the role of ‘Erik Killmonger’ in the upcoming ‘Black Panther’ movie by Marvel Studios. Jordan revealed that he had to gain up to 20 pounds of muscle in preparation for the role. He had to add weight to his chest, shoulders, back, a little in his legs and quads. He added “You really have to diet. It’s hard to be social. You have to drink a gallon and a half of water. When you’re drinking a gallon and a half of water a day, you know how many times you have to use the bathroom? It’s annoying.”
He also talked about his relationship status saying “Dating, but technically single. L.A. isn’t the best place to date…No offence to L.A.”
Commenting about the state of Hollywood in 2018, particularly relating to black people, The actor said: “It’s the best time to be a person of colour in Hollywood who’s creative and has original projects. Everybody wants that right now.” On his future plans, he added: “I feel like it’s a timing thing. I’m ambitious. I see what actors I look up to have, the types of platforms they have and their ability to create and tell stories they want — I want that. Why not?”
The ‘Black Panther’ movie is set to be in the cinemas in February.
