By Igwe Gabosky
The Duchess as I fondly called you, you were the first lady of Nollywood. You were the best when it was everything about Movie-Dom. Then I called you Amaka Isaac-Ene.
When you got married to my good brother and friend, Charles Igwe, I still refused to call you Amaka Igwe, but you would always remind me that you were Amaka Igwe and no longer Amaka Isaac-Ene.
We had a lot of plans for the industry especially in the distribution and empowerment of producers. You were seriously misunderstood in the industry due to activities of your detractors and envious competitors who were bent on tarnishing your image, but God almighty continued blessing and exalting you wherever you went.
The Duchess, the short period you spent with us was well spent. You knew God and impacted on all that met you. Your 51 years on earth was 52 years of a life well spent. You achieved in this short period what others couldn’t achieve in 90+ years. We have lost a jewel and you are totally irreplaceable.
The Duchess, you so much believed in structured and organized private sector when you initiated most of the entertainment industry. We were very happy to have met and associated with you in Nollywood and other aspects of our lives.
Amaka, I so much cherished your ways of life that immediately we knew you, we named our third daughter after you, Audrey and made you her Godmother. Thanks for being my friend. My family and I will forever miss you.

It will be painful that you would not be there for the G-Media Distribution; what would I do without you? We cannot ask God why he took you away. I know he has a place kept for you. Go well, Jee Nke Oma. Ka Chi Foo.
The Duchess of Nollywood.
